The German club, along with its president and the squad led by Neuer and Kimmich, has joined a heartfelt social campaign against the fight against this disease.

“There are things in life that are, without a doubt, more important than football,” begins the statement from Bayern Munich on its official channels. The Bavarians will launch a support campaign against leukemia, a type of blood cancer, starting this Saturday. This gesture comes at a key moment for the club, amplifying the initiative’s impact.

To make this happen, the club has set up a registration area near the Allianz Arena ahead of their match against Heidenheim. In recent weeks, the battle of the wife of a player on loan to the visiting team came to light. As in previous cases, the Bavarian club has reinforced its support with a new, strong campaign against the disease. This involves a registration drive that would allow people to become stem cell donors for those suffering from this cancer. There will be three points on the esplanade in front of the Allianz Arena, as well as near the VIP entrance. Every bit of help counts, regardless of who it is.

The gesture has the backing of both clubs and their presidents.

Neuer, Kimmich, and the Squad Fully Behind the Cause

To set an example, the club’s own players have also wanted to contribute their share to the cause. Two of the most prominent figures have been Neuer and Kimmich, both icons and heavyweights in the dressing room. “Every person can save lives here,” said the goalkeeper. “It’s impressive how much can be achieved with so little effort. The registration only takes a few minutes, but it can make a difference for the patients,” added the German shot-stopper.

His teammate echoed the same sentiment. “The whole team knows how important cohesion is. Participating should be an obligation for everyone,” said the midfielder. “That’s why: open your mouth, insert the swab, and become a donor!” urged the Germany international.

An Action Beyond Football with Strong Support

The fan community around “Bayernfans helfen e.V” has actively joined this vital process, more important than any sport in the world. “If you can save a life, don’t hesitate,” said Herbert Hainer, Bayern’s president. “The club has already collaborated with DKMS on several occasions in the fight against blood cancer. Registering is very simple; even our players are already in the database. We hope for a great turnout from the fans on this important issue,” he added, showing that everyone, including the footballers, is committed to the initiative.

On behalf of DKMS, the international non-profit organization against blood cancer, gratitude to the club is heartfelt. “We are very grateful to FC Bayern for using its influence to raise awareness about stem cell donation and thus gain new donors,” thanked Stephan Schumacher, the organization’s managing director. “Sport, precisely, has the ability to unite people and mobilize them for social causes. Together we can,” he added.

Those who cannot be present on Saturday have the option to request a free kit for home registration at www.dkms.de/fcbayernmuenchen.
