2021 US Open champion and world No. 9 Daniil Medvedev has become the third player in the current decade to achieve 100 or more victories at ATP Masters 1000 events. According to Opta Ace, the Russian joins Italy’s Jannik Sinner (118 Masters wins) and Germany’s Alexander Zverev (116) in this milestone. Medvedev currently sits at exactly 100 wins.
On Monday, May 11, in the third round of the clay-court Masters 1000 in Rome, Italy, Medvedev (seeded 7) defeated world No. 139 Pablo Llamas Ruiz of Spain (qualifier) with a score of 3:6, 6:4, 6:2.
Medvedev’s next opponent in Rome will be the winner of the match between Flavio Cobolli (Italy, seeded 10) and Thiago Agustín Tirante (Argentina).
