Russia’s top-ranked tennis player, Daniil Medvedev, expressed satisfaction with his level of play after being eliminated in the Round of 16 at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. The 30-year-old fell to Italian Flavio Cobolli, the 10th seed, with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 4-6, ending his run before the quarterfinals.

“I’m 100% sure I’m on the right path. I’m playing my style of tennis more often, the way I want to. On hard courts this year, I had three tournaments where everything came together—Brisbane, Dubai, and Indian Wells. It’s not just about the result, but the quality of the game,” Medvedev said, as reported by Sport-Express.

Cobolli will face world No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany in the quarterfinals. Medvedev, currently ranked 10th in the world, holds 23 ATP titles. The Madrid tournament, with a prize fund exceeding €8.2 million, concludes on May 3.
