Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy has gone under the knife and will be out of action for several months, as confirmed by Spanish media reports.
According to Marca, the French full-back underwent surgery to address a rectus femoris tendon injury in his right leg.
The procedure was carried out by French surgeon Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in Lyon, with the expected recovery timeline ranging from four to five months. Mendy was accompanied by Real Madrid’s medical team, who oversaw the entire process.
Mendy picked up the injury during a recent match against Espanyol. After medical assessments, surgery was deemed the only option, and the player subsequently sought out the best treatment and surgeon for his recovery.
